Tree Pruning

Treespec makes certain considerations when quoting and assessing tree pruning works and before pruning a tree.

Considerations

Tree health

Every pruning cut into a living tree is damaging. Arborists must ensure that the tree can recover from the cuts they make, or that the benefits of pruning outweigh the damage caused by pruning cuts.

Tree structure

Arborists must understand the effects of their pruning on the tree and its structural integrity. Removing any portion of the tree affects this integrity and can increase the risk of structural failure in the tree, either partially or as a whole. This is highly important when considering, the effect structural integrity has on safety to the public and the arborist themselves.

Ecological

Arborists should consider the tree’s role as a main, vital structure in the local ecosystem. Providing shade, protection, housing, screening and filtration are just some of the role’s trees play in the ecosystem.
